FN0594- Sanitary - Changes to Sanitary Closures for Bivalve Shellfish in Areas 25 and 26
The following new, revised or revoked sanitary shellfish closure boundaries are now in effect as a result of recommendations from the Pacific Region Interdepartmental Shellfish Committee: Closure 25.35 Newton Cove, Espinosa Inlet - a new closure is now in effect in the following area: The waters and intertidal foreshore of Newton Cove, on the southwest side of Espinosa Inlet, within a distance of 500 m from the outer perimeter of the floating living accommodation located at or near 49°52.45' north latitude and 126°56.58' west longitude. [NAD 83] January 1 to December 31 Closure 26.25 Union Island, Kyuquot Sound - a new closure is now in effect in the following area: The waters and intertidal foreshore of the unnamed bay north of Unsworth Point, on eastern Union Island, Kyuquot Sound, southerly of a line drawn from a point on land at 50°01.28' north latitude and 127°13.98' west longitude, thence northwest to a point of land at 50°01.43' north latitude and 127°14.22' west longitude. [NAD 83] January 1 to December 31 Note that this notice does not describe other sanitary closures which may be in effect, or Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning (PSP, red tide), Domoic Acid Poisoning and Diarrheic Shellfish Poisoning and other marine biotoxin closures.
