Fishery Notice

The following Pacific Fisheries Management areas will open to the commercial 
harvesting of Red King Crab (Paralithodes camtschatica) and Golden King Crab 
(Lithodes aequispinus) at 08:00 hours March 15, 2017.

Subareas 3-6 to 3-11, 3-14, and 3-17
Subareas 5-1, 5-2, 5-9 and 5-11 to 5-24
Subareas 6-5 to 6-22, 6-24 to 6-28

Variation Order No. 2017-193 in effect


Area B Crab harvesters wishing to participate must contact the North Coast Crab 
Fisheries Manager (Jen Gordon) prior to fishing.
  
Before King Crab fishing commences by any Area B commercial harvesters, a 
review of licence conditions followed by an inspection of traps must be 
completed with the North Coast Fisheries Manager or delegate.

All King Crab traps fished shall be in accordance with Area B conditions of 
licence and the 2017/18 Crab Integrated Fisheries Management Plan.
