Fishery Notice

The following Areas will open for commercial harvesting of Spawn on Kelp under 
the authority of a Category J licence on the dates specified.
 
Sub-areas 4-9 & 4-12 north of a line 54 degrees 10 minutes north latitude open 
March 1, 2017 until 23:59 hours May 31, 2017. Variation Order 2017-119 in 
effect.

Areas 3-2, 3-3, 4-5 to 4-8, 4-10, 4-11, 5-1 to 5-12, 6, 7, 8-1, 8-2, 8-3, 8-4, 
8-16, 10 open March 1, 2017 until 23:59 hours May 31, 2017.  Variation Order 
2017-120 in effect. 
	
Area 12 open Feb 15, 2017 until 23:59 hours April 30, 2017.  Variation Order 
2017-121 in effect. 

Area 27 open Feb 15, 2017 until 23:59 hours May 31, 2017.  Variation Order 2017-
122 in effect. 

It is important that licence holders and vessel masters refer to their licence 
text for individual licence areas.

This notice opens portions of licence areas within the Strait of Georgia, 
Central Coast, and the North Coast for commercial harvesting of spawn on kelp.  

Operators wishing to participate in the 2017 fishing season must enroll in the 
mandatory monitoring program with Doug Tallman of JO Thomas and Associates 
(604) 291-6340.
