FN1364-2026 Reduction in Sea Lice Threshold from 2.8 to 2.4 motile Lepeophtheirus salmonis per farmed fish


Effective January 1, 2026, the maximum average threshold for motile sea lice (Lepeophtheirus salmonis) will be reduced from 2.8 to 2.4 per farmed fish. This is requirement applies to all Marine Finfish aquaculture sites in the Pacific Region licensed for salmonids. 

Please refer to the 2024 Marine Finfish Conditions of Licence:

6.5 The Licence Holder must follow all area-based and site-specific sea lice thresholds prescribed in this licence. If those do not exist, a sea lice threshold of an average of 2.8 motile Lepeophtheirus salmonis per farmed fish will apply in 2025. The threshold will drop to 2.4 in 2026.

Licence holders are reminded that all reporting requirements remain in effect as outlined in their conditions of licence.
