FN1326-Licensing - Fisher Registration Card (FRC) 2026 Licence Renewal Information

2026 Fish Harvester Registration Card (FRC) licence issuance is now available through the National Online Licensing System (NOLS).

Harvesters will use the National Online Licensing System (NOLS) to go online to view, pay for and print their commercial fishing licence, and receipt.

Upon the Department receiving the required payment, the FRC will be issued and notification will be sent via email to advise Licence Holders that a change has been made to the licence holder's online account. The licence document, and receipt will be available to be printed at that time.

The FRC must be carried by the licence holder when engaged in commercial fishing and must be produced on demand.

A reminder that the most basic step that fish harvesters can take to ensure safety while working on board a vessel, is to wear a Personal Flotation Device (PFD).

Please note that WorkSafeBC have amended its fishing regulation related to the use of PFDs, see https://www.worksafebc.com select Search the OHS Regulations, enter PFD in the Search. Under the new amendments, crewmembers must wear a PFD or lifejacket when on board a fishing vessel that has no deck or deck structure, or when on the deck of a fishing vessel that has a deck or deck structure. Crewmembers are not required to wear lifejackets or PFDs below deck or when inside a deck structure where there is risk of entrapment. This amendment removes the need for a risk of drowning to be present before a PFD must be worn.
