Fishery Notice

Fisheries and Oceans Canada has conducted a further review of potential impacts on the Fraser River Sockeye Late Run Management Group, including updated projections from the Pacific Salmon Commission. Based on the current information, the Department is not in a position to consider commercial fishing opportunities for Fraser River Sockeye at this time, as referenced in the Fraser River Panel's regulatory announcement.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada will continue to monitor the situation closely and review new data as it becomes available to assess whether future commercial opportunities may be possible.
