Opening July 29, 2025 00:01 in the following Geoduck Management Areas (GMA). SUMMARY: 19C, Sydney and Cordova Channel Variation Order No. 2025-288 is in effect. FISHERY CONTINUES: 16D01, Thormanby Island Variation Order No. 2025-249. 18A, Boatswains Bank Variation Order No. 2025-250. 17A01, Icarus Pt./Lantzville Shore Variation Order No. 2025-232. 17A02, Nanoose Bay to Blunden Pt Variation Order No. 2025-233. 17A03, Nanoose Bay Variation Order No. 2025-234. 17B01, North Gabriola Island to Neck Pt Variation Order No. 2025-235. 17B02, Pylades Channel Variation Order No. 2025-236. 17B04, South portion of Area 17 Variation Order No. 2025-237. 29, Outside Valdes Island Variation Order No. 2025-238. Note: See the most recent Fishery Notice Bivalve Shellfish Marine Biotoxin Update, as recommended by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and issued by DFO to ensure the required Pacific Fisheries Management Area is open. Bivalve Shellfish Marine Biotoxin Updates can change at any time please re-confirm the required Pacific Fisheries Management Subarea is open prior to fishing daily. The On-Grounds Monitor and/or Archipelago Marine Research will direct the fleet through Geoduck beds and GMAs. Horse clams are permitted as an incidental catch only except where a quota has been established.
