The first round of crab area designations for April 1, 2020 to
March 31, 2023 is complete. The number of licences designated to each area, and 
the associated trap limits in each area are as follows: 

Area A
2016-2019: 32 vessels
2020-2023: 36 vessels

Area B
2016-2019: 24 vessels 
2020-2023: 22 vessels

Area E Quatsino
2016-2019: 2 vessels 
2020-2023: 2 vessels

Area E Sooke

2020 to 2023 Area Re-Selection Round 2 

The final round for commercial harvesters to choose a different crab management 
area has begun. Area re-selection forms have been emailed and mailed to all 
commercial crab licence holders. This is the final area re-selection process. 
Please use the contact information below if you did not receive your documents 
in November.  

The crab management area assigned to each licence will be made final by 2359 
hours January 5, 2020. Another Fishery notice will be posted the week of 
January 6, 2019 with the final results.

Sectoral Representation

The opportunity to vote for a commercial crab sectoral representative will be 
begin the week of January 6, 2020. A selection package will be emailed to all 
commercial licence holders.

To avoid delays, commercial licence holders should ensure their email and 
mailing address information within their online licencing profile is up to date.
