Stock assessment results and Shrimp Survey Bulletin 19-06 is available for
Shrimp Management Area (SMA) 12IN. Copies of the bulletin are available on
request from Dan Clark 250-756-7327 or Dan.Clark@dfo-mpo.gc.ca .

The stock assessment indicate that the biomasses of the shrimp have increased
since the last survey and the pink and sidestripe shrimp biomasses are in the
Healthy zone following the Precautionary Approach and harvest rates are 35%.
New catch ceilings have been defined and the area will remain open until one of
the catch ceilings are reached or March 31. There will be requests to take an
at-sea observer on specific trips so early notification of the intent to fish
is requested to facilitate observer deployment.
