Scallop by trawl Opens 00:01 hours October 22, 2019 to April 30, 2020 or until quota has been achieved in the following Scallop Management Area: 13G S W Quadra That portion of Subarea 13-1 near Cape Mudge at 49o 59.778'N and 125o 10.622'W then to 49o 58.937'N and 125o 07.788'W then to 49o 58.157'N and 125o 08.365'W then to 49o 59.403'N and 125o 11.791'W then to 49o 59.930'N and 125o 11.702'W then to the beginning point. This will have the effect of having both Wilby Shoals and SW Quadra open for scallop Trawl Total Quota for S.W. Quadra is 6401kg. Remaining quota for Wilby Shoals is 2664 kg Variation Order No. 2019-587 is in effect. Notes: Licence holders must be in possession of the 2019/20 commercial licence in order to participate. Review the 2019/20 Scallop by Trawl Integrated Fisheries Management Plan prior to fishing. A copy of the IFMP may be obtained by emailing a request to: David.Fogtmann@dfo-mpo.gc.ca The collection of data required for stock assessment will be obtained through industry-funded trawl surveys. As surveys may occur at any time, quotas set within this plan are subject to in-season adjustment based on new survey results. Quotas for the individual harvest sites are outlined in the IFMP or announced by Fishery Notice. Harvest sites will be closed as quotas are achieved in- season. To monitor and track quotas, all licence eligibility holders must make arrangements to participate in an industry-funded catch monitoring and hail program. Licence holders are responsible for ensuring they accurately complete and submit harvest logbooks as outlined in their licence conditions. Harvesting is prohibited in all Sanitary Contamination closures. Check for sanitary closures within portions of the management quota areas listed above prior to each day's harvesting. Harvesters are responsible for checking Fishery Notices for the Bivalve Shellfish Marine Biotoxin Updates prior to each day's harvesting, as recommended by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and issued by DFO.
