FN1001-RECREATIONAL - Salmon - Chum - Region 1 - Nitinat River - Angling Opportunities - Effective Immediately
Effective immediately until 23:59 hours September 30, 2019, the daily limit for Chum Salmon is two (2) per day in the Nitinat River, downstream of Parker Creek, EXCLUDING the following finfish closures: - from the powerline crossing above the Nitinat River Hatchery water intake, downstream to the lowest point of confluence with the Little Nitinat River, then perpendicular to the Nitinat River current to a point on the opposite shore. - between fishing boundary signs located approximately 100 m above and below Red Rock Pool. - from 50 m upstream to 50 m downstream of the Nitinat River Bridge. Variation Orders: 2019-RFQ-514 Anglers are reminded that fishing is only permitted in this area using a single barbless hook with a 15 mm (or less) hook to shank measurement. Anglers are further reminded that intentionally (willfully) foul-hooking fish or attempting to foul hook fish is illegal and that non-compliance may result in closure. (Foul hook is defined as: hooking a fish in any part of its body other than the mouth). Please note that the above noted portion of the Nitinat River will be closed to fishing for salmon from October 1 to 14 as scheduled to protect Chinook spawning.
