FN0997-YUKON/TBR - RECREATIONAL Salmon - Alsek River (including the Tatshenshini River and tributaries) - 2019 Coho Salmon and Aggregate Salmon - Quota Change
Coho Salmon: Current assessment information indicates that coho salmon returns to the Transboundary Rivers and Southeast Alaska region are better than anticipated. To date, coho salmon passage at the Klukshu River assessment program is significantly above the long-term average. In response to the better than expected coho salmon return to the Alsek River, the coho salmon catch limits will be increased to 4 per day and 12 in possession for public (recreational) salmon angling in the waters of the Tatshenshini River upstream of the Village Creek and Tatshenshini River confluence to the Yukon and British Columbia border, beginning September 26th, 2019. Aggregate Salmon: The aggregate salmon catch limits will also be increased to 4 per day and 12 in possession for public (recreational) salmon angling in the waters of the Tatshenshini River upstream of the Village Creek and Tatshenshini River confluence to the Yukon and British Columbia border, beginning September 26th, 2019. Catch and possession limits for other individual salmon species remain unchanged.
