Fishery Notice

The Area F Troll fishery is hereby closed to retention of Sockeye salmon 
effective at 23:59 hours on Sunday, July 14, 2019.

This closure applies to all Area F Troll fisheries until further notice.

Variation Orders 2019-NCTR-02 and 2019-NCTR-04 are hereby revoked at 23:59 
hours on Sunday, July 14, 2019.


Skeena Sockeye Update

By-catch provisions of Sockeye within Dixon Entrance troll fisheries are 
contingent on the availability of commercial TAC of Skeena and Nass Sockeye. 
The current Skeena Sockeye Total Return to Canada (TRTC) estimate is 273,359, 
which at the low end of pre-season forecast range, and well below the 
commercial trigger of 1.05 M. There have been no commercial fisheries targeting 
Skeena Sockeye.
