Fishery Notice

Please be advised that requests to transfer USA 68 (tuna) license eligibility 
must be received by the Department no later than May 15, 2019 for eligibilities 
number 1-45. 

In order for the Department to approve a transfer the replacing vessel must not 
be larger than the initial vessel, must also already hold a USA 68 eligibility 
(1-179), must have a history of fishing in the USA EEZ, and must not have had 
any enforcement incidents in the USA EEZ. Note that all transfers of 
eligibilities 1-45 must be approved by a Canada-USA Joint Review Committee 
which is expected to meet in late May 2019.

All requests for USA 68 eligibility transfers should be sent to: fishing-
peche@dfo-mpo.gc.ca (specify "Pacific Region" in subject line).
