Opening 00:01 March 1, 2019 in the following Geoduck Management Areas (GMAs): SUMMARY: 12A01, Northern Island Variation Order No. 2019-083 Season Opening. Note: See the most recent Fishery Notice Bivalve Shellfish Marine Biotoxin Update, as recommended by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and issued by DFO to ensure the required area is open. Bivalve Shellfish Marine Biotoxin Updates can change at any time please re-confirm the required Pacific Fisheries Management Subarea is open prior to fishing daily. DETAILS: GMA 12A01, Northern Island: 1. Subarea 12-11 2. That portion of Subarea 12-16 north of a line from the Doyle Island light due west to a point south of the Noble Islets light, thence to Boxer Point on Nigei Island. NOTES: North Coast and West Coast Vancouver Island areas are identified on separate Fishery Notices. See the 2019/20 Geoduck and Horse Clam Integrated Fisheries Management Plan (IFMP) for a more detailed description of the Fishing Protocol. The On-Grounds Monitor and/or Archipelago Marine Research will direct the fleet through Geoduck beds and GMAs.
