Area 2

Effective immediately there is a harvest prohibition for all bivalve shellfish 
in Subarea 2-19.

The product may be contaminated given the deviance from the sampling 
requirements established under the biotoxin monitoring program. 

Please see the summary table for the status of all subareas in Area 2.


Area 18

Effective immediately the harvest prohibition for butter clams and cockles is 
lifted in Subarea 18-10.

The most recent marine biotoxin results were acceptable. 

Please see the summary table for the status of all subareas in Area 18.

Area 24

Effective immediately the harvest prohibition for manila clams, littleneck 
clams, oysters and mussels is lifted in Subareas 24-3 and 24-13.

The most recent marine biotoxin results were acceptable.

The following information in this fishery notice reflects Paralytic Shellfish 
Poisoning (PSP, red tide), Domoic Acid Poisoning (also known as Amnesic 
Shellfish Poisoning (ASP)), Diarrhetic Shellfish Poisoning (DSP) and other 
marine toxin closures for bivalve shellfish (oysters, clams, scallops, mussels, 
and geoduck). Note that this fishery notice does not describe sewage

southerly following the shoreline of West Redonda Island to a point at 50°
12.29' north latitude and 124°56.55' west longitude, thence southwesterly to a 
point on the northeast coast of Cortes Island at 50°11.74' north latitude and

Cortes Island to Bullock Bluff, thence true north following the boundary line

southerly and then northerly following the shoreline of West Redonda Island to 
a point on the southeast shoreline of West Redonda Island at 50°07.87' north 
latitude and 124°48.03' west longitude, thence easterly to a point on the 
mainland at 50°07.77' north latitude and 124°43.27' west longitude, thence 
southerly following the shoreline to Zephine Head at 50°04.57' north latitude 
and 124°48.30' west longitude, then southeasterly following the boundary line 
to Sarah Point at 50°03.76' north latitude and 124°50.61' west longitude, 
thence following the boundary line to Mary Point at 50°03.44' north latitude

north latitude, 125°58.1' west longitude), then east of a line from this point 
to a prominent unnamed point on Vancouver Island approximately 1/2 mile 
northwest of the western most point of Morfee Island (at 49°13.6' north 
latitude, 125°58.1' west longitude)

Subarea 24-6 (Closure 24-6.B) (described below) open to geoduck and horse clams

NOTES:
Details are broken into Areas and Subareas, as managed by Fisheries and Oceans 
Canada (DFO).  Subarea information is not in the British Columbia Tidal Waters 
Sport Fishing Guide, but it is readily available in non-navigable Subarea 
management charts that can be obtained at DFO offices.  In addition, 
descriptions of Subareas are set out in the Pacific Fishery Management Area 
Regulations, 2007.  These regulations are available at libraries and from the
