Fishery Notice

The following new, revised or revoked sanitary shellfish closure boundaries are 
now in effect as a result of recommendations from the Pacific Region 
Interdepartmental Shellfish Committee: 

Closure 14.34	Nile Creek - a new closure is now in effect in the following 
area:

The intertidal foreshore of the Nile Creek Estuary from a point on land at 49°
25.34' north latitude and 124°38.56' west longitude, thence southeasterly 
following the intertidal boundary to a point on land at 49°25.05' north 
latitude and 124°38.34' west longitude. [NAD83] 

January 1 to December 31

Closure 15.31	Western Trevenen Bay - a new closure is now in effect in the 
following area:

The waters and intertidal foreshore of western Trevenen Bay within a 125 m 
radius centered at the mouth of the creek at 50°01.64' north latitude and 124°
45.12' west longitude. [NAD83]

January 1 to December 31

Closure 16.51	Southeast Baker Bay, Hotham Sound - a new closure is now in 
effect in the following area:

The waters and intertidal foreshore of southeast Baker Bay, Hotham Sound, 
within a 160 m radius centered at the westernmost point of land on the small 
islet at 49°55.02' north latitude and 124°01.98' west longitude. [NAD83]

January 1 to December 31

Closure 17.9	Southern Gabriola Island - the existing closure has been 
amended.

The intertidal foreshore of southern Gabriola Island commencing from a point on 
land at 49°07.72' north latitude and 123°44.72' west longitude, thence westerly 
to a point on land at 49°07.80' north latitude and 123°45.64' west longitude.  
[NAD83]

Closure 17.45	West of Coffin Point, Evening Cove - a new closure is now in 
effect in the following area:

The waters and intertidal foreshore of the unnamed bay west of Coffin Point 
within Evening Cove lying north of a line drawn from a point of land at 48°
59.23' north latitude and 123°45.82' west longitude thence southeasterly to a 
point on land at 48°59.20' north latitude and 123°45.55' west longitude. [NAD83]

January 1 to December 31

Closure 18.10	Horton Bay, Mayne Island - the existing closure has been 
amended.

The waters and intertidal foreshore of Horton Bay, Mayne Island, inside a line 
drawn from Aitken Point at 48°49.85' north latitude and 123°14.79' west 
longitude, thence southeasterly to a point on land at 48°49.48' north latitude 
and 123°14.53' west longitude located east of the public dock. [NAD83]

January 1 to December 31

Closure 18.36	East side of Tumbo Islamd - a new closure is now in effect 
in the following area:

The waters and intertidal foreshore of the unnamed bay on the east side of 
Tumbo Island, lying west of a line drawn from Savage Point at 48°47.86' north 
latitude and 123°03.66' west longitude thence southeasterly to Tumbo Point at 
48°47.63' north latitude and 123°03.08' west longitude."  [NAD83]

Closure 23.8 	Southern Roquefeuil Bay - a new closure is now in effect in 
the following area:

The waters and intertidal foreshore of the cove in southern Roquefeuil Bay 
located southerly of a line drawn from a point on land at 48°51.15' north 
latitude and 125°06.70' west longitude, thence southwesterly to the opposite 
point on land at 48°51.09' north latitude and 125°06.76' west longitude.

Closure 23.31	Head of Uchucklesit Inlet - a new closure is now in effect 
in the following area:

The waters and intertidal foreshore of the head of Uchucklesit Inlet located 
westerly of a line drawn from a point on land at 49°01.14' north latitude and 
125°02.09' west longitude, thence southwesterly to a point on land at 49°00.67' 
north latitude and 125°02.50' west longitude. [NAD83]

January 1 to December 31

Closure 23.32	Eastern Shore of Uchucklesit Inlet - a new closure is now in 
effect in the following area:

The waters and intertidal foreshore on the eastern shore of Uchucklesit Inlet, 
inside a line drawn from a point of land on Caiger Point at 49°00.96' north 
latitude and 125°02.00' west longitude, thence 150 m seaward in a southwesterly 
direction to a point in water at 49°00.89' north latitude and 125°02.06' west 
longitude, thence southeasterly to a point on land in Green Cove at 48°59.23' 
north latitude and 124°58.81' west longitude. [NAD83]

Closure 23.jj	Head of Effingham Inlet - the existing emergency closure has 
been revoked.

The waters and intertidal foreshore of Effingham Inlet northwest of a line 
drawn from a point on land on Vancouver Island at 49°05.38' north latitude and 
125°10.79' west longitude, thence southwesterly to a point on land on the 
opposite bank at 49°05.20' north latitude and 125°10.99' west longitude. [NAD83]

Note that this notice does not describe other sanitary closures which may be in 
effect, or Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning (PSP, red tide), Domoic Acid Poisoning 
and Diarrheic Shellfish Poisoning and other marine biotoxin closures.  Detailed
