FN1045-COMMERCIAL - Invertebrates: Intertidal Manila and Littleneck Clam - Areas 1 to 29 - Consultation for 2019-21 Intertidal Clam Integrated Fisheries Management Plan
The Integrated Fisheries Management Plan for Intertidal Clams (IFMP) is a three year plan from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2021 and a draft is now available for your review and comment. You may request a copy of the plan by contacting the Fishery Manager. The Commercial Harvest Plan, First Nation Harvest Plan, Recreational Fishery Harvest plan and the Depuration Harvest Plan are components of the IFMP document and are revised annually to address issues or changes to the fishery. There continues to be a fishery in Area 1 for razor clams that is co-managed with the Council of Haida Nation. There is also a commercial fishery in Area 7 that is co-managed with the Heiltsuk First Nation.
