Fishery Notice

The Department of Fisheries and Oceans effectively closed the 2017/2018 
fisheries for tuna species in waters of the Pacific Ocean within the Canadian 
Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and offshore (high seas) as of March 31, 2018 at 
23:59 hours.  

The Department of Fisheries and Oceans issued variations orders 2018-204 and 
2018-203 to open fisheries for tuna species within the Canadian Exclusive Zone 
(EEZ) and the offshore high seas effective April 1, 2018 at 00:01 hours.

The pacific albacore tuna fishery in the USA EEZ will remain closed until June 
15, 2018.
