FN1165-SANITARY - Rainfall Warning for the lower Sunshine Coast, B.C. coast, has been issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada's Weather Service.
Please be advised that intense rainfall events resulting in flooding and/or sewage collection system overflows, can adversely affect marine water quality and potentially result in temporary emergency shellfish harvesting closures.
Although there is no proposed closure at this time, shellfish harvesters are advised to monitor weather conditions and warnings, and to plan their harvesting activities accordingly.

Howe Sound, B.C. (082511-082514-082520)
Metro Vancouver - North Shore including West Vancouver and North Vancouver, B.C. (082512-082610)
Metro Vancouver - northeast including Coquitlam and Maple Ridge, B.C. (082513-082630-082711-082714)
Rain, at times heavy, is expected.
What: Significant rainfall is expected (50 to 80 mm)
Where: Metro Vancouver - North Shore (including North and West Vancouver) and Northeast (including Coquitlam and Maple Ridge), Howe Sound (southern sections including Bowen Island), and the Sunshine Coast (southern sections including Gibsons).
When: Beginning Friday morning and continuing into Friday evening.
Remarks: A moisture laden frontal system is pushing onto the the BC coast. Rainfall is expected to begin Friday morning and intensify through the afternoon. Rain at times heavy can be expected into Friday evening when the precipitation will begin to taper off to a few showers.
Water will likely pool on roads and in low-lying areas. Visibility will likely be suddenly reduced at times.
Allow extra time for travel.
