Fishery Notice

Groundfish Trawl licence holders and authorized signatories are advised of changes made to the groundfish trawl individual vessel quota (IVQ) program request for catch reallocation. For the remaining of the 2025/26 groundfish fishing season groundfish trawl licence owners or their authorized signatories are now permitted to submit catch overage reallocation requests for Silvergrey Rockfish between all Species Management Areas (SMAs), 3C/D, 5A/B, 5C/D, or 5E. This change will only be in effect until February 20, 2026 and will revert back to the original allowable catch reallocation areas for the start of the 2026/27 Groundfish season. This change was requested and discussed with DFO by the Groundfish Trawl Advisory Committee (GTAC) at its September 11, 2025 meeting.
