FN0762-ABORIGINAL - Salmon: FSC - Sockeye - First Nations Food, Social and Ceremonial Fisheries in Most Southern British Columbia Marine Waters - Opening August 6, 2025


Effective 00:01 August 6 to 23:59 August 9, 2025, Sockeye and Pink salmon retention is permitted in First Nations FSC Fisheries in the following Areas: Areas 11 to 21, 28, 111, 121, 123 to 127, Subareas 26-11, 27-4, 27-6 and Subareas 29-1 to 29-6.

Fraser River Sockeye salmon are managed using in-season data, including test fishing catches, hydroacoustic estimates at Mission, biological sampling, catch reporting, and environmental indicators such as water temperature and discharge levels in the Fraser River.
 
The Department is requesting daily catch reporting to closely track harvest against allocations available at this time.
