Fishery Notice

Groundfish Trawl licence holders and harvesters are advised that the Department has approved a total allowable catch (TAC) for Offshore Pacific Hake of 104,480 tonnes for the 2025/26 groundfish fishing season. Following recommendations from the Hake Advisory Sub Committee (HASC) and the Groundfish Trawl Advisory Committee (GTAC), the Department has decided that no in-season quota of offshore Pacific Hake will be released at this time. The remaining 67,719 tonnes of quota will remain held reserve until a sufficient 2025/26 fishery can be established and the HASC, GTAC, and the Department support the release of additional quota.  

The Offshore Pacific Hake Harvest Plan will be available as an addendum in a updated version of the 2025/26 Groundfish Integrated Fishery Management Plan - which will be released shortly.
