FN1446-ABORIGINAL - Invertebrates - All Bivalves - Area 4 - METLAKATLA Food, Social and Ceremonial - Fishery CLOSURE
Effectively immediately, Area 4 is closed for the harvest of all bivalve shellfish. This is a precautionary closure due to a lapse in sample submissions for the marine biotoxin monitoring program. Fishers are advised that bivalve shellfish are susceptible to Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning (PSP) and other forms of contamination and closures may occur. All bivalve shellfish harvesters must check before harvesting to ensure there aren't any closures in the vicinity.
