FN0700-COMMERCIAL - Salmon Sockeye - Area 4 - Update - July 11, 2022
As of July 11, the in-season cumulative total escapement past Tyee is 336,647 sockeye. On average, 12.8% of the aggregate Skeena sockeye return passes the Tyee test fishery by July 11. As of July 7, the Skeena sockeye aggregate in-season return to Canada forecast, based on average run timing is estimated to be ~2,3 million sockeye, an updated forecast is anticipated for release in the DFO weekly salmon update released July 12. Escapements will continue to be monitored closely and an update on commercial Sockeye fishing opportunities will be provided through Fishery Notice. FOR MORE INFORMATION: Corey Martens - 250-799-5127
