FN1272-COMMERCIAL - Geoduck and Horse Clam - Closing - Area 24.
Closed in the following Geoduck Management Areas (GMAs). Biotoxin results were unacceptable. SUMMARY: 24A06b, East Maurus Channel 24B02b, Calmus Pass 24B03, Millar Channel Variation Order Nos 2019-676 to -678 revoked. FISHERY CONTINUES: No other areas open on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. Note: Please see the most recent Fishery Notice - Bivalve Shellfish Marine Biotoxin Update, as recommended by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and issued by DFO. Bivalve Shellfish Marine Biotoxin Updates can change at any time please confirm the required Pacific Fisheries Management Subarea is open prior to fishing. NOTES: North Coast and East Coast Vancouver Island areas are identified on separate Fishery Notices. See the 2019/20 Geoduck and Horse Clam Integrated Fisheries Management Plan (IFMP) for a more detailed description of the Fishing Protocol. The On-Grounds Monitor and/or Archipelago Marine Research will direct the fleet through Geoduck beds and GMAs.
