Fishery Notice

Gitanyow Fisheries Authority Sockeye directed CSAF Demonstration Fishery 
opening July 28, 2019. 

This demonstration fishery was proposed and reviewed as part of the work to 
implement updates to the Commercial Salmon Allocation Framework (CSAF) and was 
included in the draft 2019/20 IFMP for public review and feedback prior to 
approval. This demonstration fishery is being conducted by the Gitanyow 
Fisheries Authority. 

The fishery will open from Sunday July 28 at 00:01 hours to Saturday August 3, 
2019 at 23:59 hours at sites along the main stem of the Nass River. 

The target species in this fishery is Nass Sockeye, with non-retention of Coho, 
Chinook, Chum and Steelhead.
