FN0686-RECREATIONAL - Finfish - Wild Trout - North Coast - Areas 1 to 10, 101 to 110, 130 and 142 - Amendment to FN0673
This fishery notice amends FN0673 to clarify the size limit for Wild Trout retention in North Coast recreational fisheries. Areas 1 to 10, 101 to 110, 130 and 142: Effective immediately until further notice - The recreational daily limit for Wild Trout over 50 cm is zero (0). The daily limit for Wild Trout of 50 cm or less remains two (2) per day unless otherwise specified. The tidal waters of the Tlell River remain non-retention for both wild and hatchery Trout. Variation Order Number: 2019-RFQ-0401 Notes: Possession limits are two times the daily limits. The daily limit for all species of Pacific salmon from tidal and fresh waters combined is 4. Individual species limits also apply. Barbless hooks are required when fishing for salmon in tidal waters of British Columbia. The term "marked" means a hatchery fish that has a healed scar in place of the adipose fin. Sport anglers are encouraged to participate in the Salmon Sport Head Recovery program by labelling and submitting heads from adipose fin-clipped chinook and coho salmon. Recovery of coded-wire tags provides critical information for coast-wide stock assessment. Contact the Salmon Sport Head Recovery Program toll free at (866) 483-9994 for further information. Anglers are advised to check http://bcsportfishguide.ca for fishing closures and other recreational fishing information.
