Fishery Notice

Gitanyow Fisheries Authority Sockeye directed CSAF Demonstration Fishery opened 
July 17, 2019. 

This demonstration fishery was proposed and reviewed as part of the work to 
implement updates to the Commercial Salmon Allocation Framework (CSAF) and was 
included in the draft 2019/20 IFMP for public review and feedback prior to 
approval. This demonstration fishery is being conducted by the Gitanyow 
Fisheries Authority. 

The fishery is open from Wednesday, July 17 at 00:01 hours to Saturday, July 
20, 2019 at 23:59 hours at sites along the main stem of the Nass River. 

The target species in this fishery is Nass Sockeye with non-retention of Coho, 
Chinook, Chum and steelhead.
