FN0573-In-season Allocation of 2019 Offshore Pacific Hake Quota
Groundfish Trawl licence holders and harvesters are advised that DFO has allocated the remaining 107,167 tonnes of Offshore Pacific hake quota for the 2019/20 fishing season as follows; Shoreside: 81,031 tonnes Joint Venture: 26,136 tonnes Industry is reminded that DFO initially allocated 26,998 tonnes of Offshore Pacific Hake for Shoreside delivery to eligible groundfish trawl licenses on February 21, 2019. A further 18,900 tonnes was allocated on March 15 as carryover from the 2018/19 season (15,036 t Shoreside quota and 3,864 t Joint Venture quota) The allocation of the 2019 Offshore Pacific Hake TAC of 156,067 tonnes between Shoreside and Joint Venture quota for the 2019/20 season is; Shoreside: 126,067 tonnes Joint Venture: 30,000 tonnes As in the past, the Groundfish Development Quota portion (10%) of the Shoreside quota has yet to be allocated to licences but will be upon completion of the Groundfish Development Authority process later this year. Fees for these additional quotas have been calculated for each eligible groundfish trawl licence based on the permanent individual vessel quota percentage (%) of Offshore and Offshore JV hake held on a licence as of June 25th, 2019. Payment of fees can now be made through the National Online Licensing System (NOLS). Once fees have been paid, the Groundfish Management Unit (GMU) will assign and issue a licence amendment reflecting the revised Offshore and Offshore JV Hake IVQ for that licensed vessel.
