North Coast Herring Update
Area 5 - Kitkatla

March 29, 2019 (12:00 hours):
This morning a test set was made on skimmer schools at Coquitlam Island. No new 
fish appear to be coming into the inlet at this time, with an active spawn on 
the outside of Freeman Pass. Test operations will conclude today. This is the 
last fisheries notice for the 2019 DFO Herring Test Charter for Kitkatla Inlet.

Definitions:
Scratches - Herring present in small schools 1 to 2 tons
Skimmer - Herring spread out near the surface, difficult to quantify
Fish on bottom (FOB) - Herring too close to the bottom to quantify
NFF - No Fish Found
Washed out spawn - Spawn that is coming to an end
Miles - Means nautical miles for this bulletin
