BODY OF NOTICE TEXT: North Coast Herring Update Area 5 - Kitkatla March 25, 2019 (21:30 hours): Sounding operations continued along the top and east side of Gurd Island in the afternoon and evening. Spawn has expanded at Dries Inlet and Kitkatla Inlet with increased bird and whale activity. March 26, 2019 (21:00 hrs): Operations continued today. Spawn at Dries Inlet and Kitkatla Creek has expanded to greater than 3 miles. Observations: Gasboat Pass - March 25: FOB Chief Point - March 25: FOB Gravel Pit - March 25: Skimmers Gravel Pit - March 26: Scratches Gurd Inlet - March 22: Scratches and FOB Gurd Island East - March 22: Scratches Gurd Island West - March 26: NFF Gurd Point - March 21: NFF Top of Gurd - March 26: Scratches and FOB Bottom of Gurd - March 25: Numerous scratches Freeman Pass - March 25: Scratches Winter Rock - March 26: Numerous 15t-20t schools Serpentine Inlet March 22: NFF Kitkatla Creek - March 26: Active spawn and numerous skimmers Wilcox Group - March 20: 400t - 500t Wilcox Group - March 21: NFF Cessford Island - March 20: 50 t.
