North Coast Herring Update
Area 5 - Kitkatla

March 21, 2019 (2100 hours): 
Spawn continues at Dries Inlet from Camp Creek to past Kitkatla Creek. Sounding 
continued along Porcher Peninsula and along the top side of Gurd.

March 22, 2019 (1100 hrs):
Sounding continued on the top end of Gurd this morning. Fish were flipping on 
surface along Porcher Peninsula down to Absalom Island but too close to the 
beach to quantify.

Porcher Peninsula - March 22: 300 - 400 t plus FOB.

Scratches - Herring present in small schools 1 to 2 tons
Skimmer - Herring spread out near the surface, difficult to quantify
Fish on bottom (FOB) - Herring too close to the bottom to quantify
NFF - No Fish Found
Washed out spawn - Spawn that is coming to an end
Miles - Means nautical miles for this bulletin
