Fishery Notice

The following areas will open for commercial harvesting of Spawn on Kelp under 
the authority of a Category J licence on the dates specified:

Subareas 10-4 and 10-5 open March 22, 2019 until 23:59 hours May 31, 2019.  
Variation Order 2019-186 in effect. 

This opens Browning Channel and Blackney Channel.  

It is important that licence holders and vessel masters refer to their licence 
text for individual licence areas.

This notice opens portions of licence areas within the Central Coast and 
portions of the North Coast for commercial harvesting of spawn on kelp.  

Areas 3, 4,and 10 are open under a precautionary management plan to guide 
operations. Please contact below for more information.  

Operators wishing to participate in the 2019 fishing season must enrol in the 
mandatory monitoring program with Doug Tallman of JO Thomas and Associates 
(604) 291-6340.
