North Coast Herring Update Area 5 - Kitkatla March 20, 2019 (21:00 hours): In the afternoon, sounding continued on the East side of Gurd Island, then up Porcher Peninsula in the early evening and into the night. Spawn continues at Dries Inlet. March 21, 2019 (10:45 hours): Sounding continued at the Top of Gurd this morning and along Porcher Peninsula. More fish are appearing in these areas. A test set was made on 100t at Porcher Peninsula. 75t caught in the set. Sounding continues today on West side of Gurd Island up to top end and to Dries Inlet to assess spawning activities.
