FN0254-2019/2020 Halibut, Sablefish, Rockfish, Lingcod and Dogfish Sector Season Carryover Calculations Complete
Groundfish hook and line and trap harvesters are notified that the calculations of quota overages and underages from the recently closed 2018/2019 season are now complete. Trawl sector carryover calculations are not complete at this time. Revised 2019/2020 Licence Status Reports and Licence Amendments are now available from the Groundfish Management Unit for the Halibut, Sablefish, Rockfish, Lingcod and Dogfish sectors. Reallocation requests for the 2019/2020 season for the Halibut, Sablefish, Rockfish, Lingcod, and Dogfish fisheries will be accepted as of 10:00, Thursday, March 21, 2019. Reallocation request forms for 2019/2020 are available online at: http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/commercial/ground-fond/contact-en.html Please note that any reallocation requests for the 2019/2020 groundfish season submitted before 10:00 on Thursday, March 21, 2019 will not be processed. The Groundfish Management Unit(GMU) is working to implement changes to Trawl carryover calculations. These changes were recommended by the Groundfish Trawl Advisory Committee during 2018/19 consultations. GMU will notify the Trawl industry when 2019/20 Licence Status Reports and Amendments are available and when reallocations requests will be accepted.
