FN0086-Groundfish: 2018/2019 IFMP - Changes to Sector and Licence Species Caps


The commercial groundfish fishery is hereby notified of the following changes 
to the 2018/2019 Integrated Fisheries Management Plan for Groundfish. These 
changes take effect immediately:

1)Section 9.1.5.6 - Outgoing Sector Caps:

The Trawl outgoing sector cap for Sablefish has been increased from 85,746 lbs 
to 150,000 lbs. 

2) Appendix 4: Rockfish by Hook and Line (Inside ZN) Commercial Harvest Plan

Section 8.1.2 

The Licence Species Caps for the following species have been increased to the 
following amounts:

Quillback rockfish --------------------------------------------- 22,000 lbs 
Yelloweye rockfish ---------------------------------------------- 6,500 lbs

3) Appendix 8: Groundfish Trawl Commercial Harvest Plan

Section 15.3.1: Temporary Groundfish Trawl Quota Vessel Species Caps

Groundfish Trawl licence holders and harvesters are advised of the following 
harvest plan changes. These changes were discussed and recommended to DFO by 
the Groundfish Trawl Advisory Committee at its February 7, 2019 meeting.

The following Individual Groundfish Trawl Temporary Quota Species Cap changes 
are in effect for Groundfish Trawl fishery for the remainder of the 2018/2019 
fishing season:

Yellowtail Rockfish ------from------12%-----to-----16%
Widow Rockfish------------from------20%-----to-----25%
Canary Rockfish-----------from------11%-----to-----14%
Pacific Ocean Perch-------from------11%-----to-----15%
Yellowmouth Rockfish------from------12%-----to----16%
Rougheye Rockfish---------from------20%-----to-----25%
Shortraker Rockfish-------from------10%-----to-----11%
English (lemon) Sole------from------40%-----to-----45%
Pacific Hake (offshore)---from------13%-----to-----19%
Pacific Hake (JV)---------from------13%-----to-----14%
