Fishery Notice

Please be advised that Fisheries and Oceans Canada will be holding a Geoduck 
and Horse Clam Research meeting.  This meeting is scheduled to take place on 
Thursday April 5, 2018 in Nanaimo.  

This meeting is to discuss research priorities and survey activities for 2018.  
Numerous surveys are conducted annually to estimate Geoduck density which 
contributes to the assessment program and the calculation of harvest options.  
This is done collectively with industry, DFO and First Nations.  Other long 
term and short research projects occur adding to the knowledge base of Geoduck 
biological characteristics.  For more information on the science program please

To ensure adequate seating room at the upcoming meeting, please notify me if 
you wish to participate.  An agenda will be sent upon request.
