Opening 00:01 November 4, 2017 in the following Geoduck Management Areas (GMAs). SUMMARY: 24A02a, Yarksis Variation Order 2017-586 Fishery Continues: 24C01, Sydney Inlet 24D01b, Shelter Inlet 24D01c, McKay Island Variation Order 2017-537 to 539 24A05, Lemmens Inlet Variation Order 2017-398 Note: Please see the most recent Fishery Notice - Bivalve Shellfish Marine Biotoxin Update, as recommended by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and issued by DFO. Bivalve Shellfish Marine Biotoxin Updates can change at any time please confirm the required Pacific Fisheries Management Subarea is open prior to fishing. DETAILS: GMA 24A02a, Yarksis: A portion of Subarea 24-8: 1. bounded by a line on the north from Rassier Point to Schindler Point and 2. bounded on the west by the shoreline of Vargas Island and 3. bounded on the east by a line drawn between Moser Point on Vargas Island to an unnamed point northwest of Kakawis (at 49 degrees 11.4 minutes north latitude, 125 degrees 55 minutes west longitude). NOTES: North Coast and East Coast Vancouver Island areas are identified on separate Fishery Notices. See the 2017/18 Geoduck and Horse Clam Integrated Fisheries Management Plan (IFMP) for a more detailed description of the Fishing Protocol. The On-Grounds Monitor and/or Archipelago Marine Research will direct the fleet through Geoduck beds and GMAs.
