Opening 00:01 hours October 31, 2017 in the following Sea Cucumber Management Areas. SUMMARY: 16A, Texada Island 16B, Jervis Inlet 16D, Lasqueti Island 18A, Gulf Islands South Variation Order 2017-577 to 580 The fishery continues in the following Sea Cucumber Management Areas: East Coast Vancouver Island: 16C, Texada Island 15B, East Redonda 15C, South Desolation 12J, Johnstone Strait 13A, Quadra/Cortes 13D, Loughborough West Coast Vancouver Island 24A, North Clayoquot 24B, South Clayoquot DETAILS: 16A, Texada Island: a) Subareas 16-6 to 16-8. b) Subarea 16-9 excluding those waters of Skookumchuck Narrows and Sechelt Rapids bounded on the west by a line from a point on the foreshore at the westerly limit of Secret Bay on Sechelt Peninsula thence 50 degrees true to a point on the foreshore on the mainland; and the east by a line from Raland Point on Sechelt Peninsula, thence 50 degrees true to a point on the foreshore on the mainland [Skookumchuck Provincial Park]. 16B, Jervis Inlet a) Subareas 16-10, 16-12 and 16-13. b) Subarea 16-11 excluding the portion shoreward of the 30 metre depth contour line from Scotch Fir Point to Culloden Point [the entire mainland portion of Subarea 16-11], as shown on Chart 3514 published by the Canadian Hydrographic Service. [Jervis Inlet Experimental Fishing Area]. 16D, Lasqueti Island Subareas 14-3, 16-19 and 16-20. 18A, Gulf Islands South Subareas 18-1, 18-2, 18-4, 18-5, 18-9 and 18-11. This fishery is scheduled to be completed by 2359 hrs November 30. Fishing areas will close prior to November 30 as quotas are achieved. This fishery is managed on an individual quota of 16,000 lbs/license with port validation. Fishermen must hail in to D&D Pacific Fisheries Ltd (1-800-775- 5505) at least 24 hrs prior to fishing and within 24 hrs of terminating fishing in an area. All landings must be validated. All landing conditions as described in the management plan and licence conditions apply. For further information and details please consult the 2017/18 Sea Cucumber management plan.
