Fishery Notice

Area 1 chum:
Masset Inlet - Abundance is below management targets

Area 2E chum:
No change in chum abundance from last week.  All areas remain below management 
targets. Commercial fishing opportunities are not anticipated.   

Area 2W chum:
No change in chum abundance from last week.  Majority of Tasu and Englefield 
chum salmon abundance are at management targets.  While returns appear to be 
sufficient for spawning requirements, there is insufficient abundance for 
commercial net fishing opportunities.  Commercial fishing opportunities are not 
anticipated.

There will be no commercial fishing opportunities in Areas 1 or 2 for the 
balance of the season.  Charter Patrol and Haida Fisheries monitors will be 
focusing on stock assessment and spawner enumeration for the remainder of the 
season.
