Opening 12:00 Hours October 4, 2017 in the following Geoduck Management Areas (GMAs). An asterisk indicates a change in area description since the last rotation: SUMMARY: PRF02a Stephens Island Southeast (Subarea 4-2 portion only) PRF02b Stephens Island Southwest PRF03 North Porcher Island PRF04 Oval Bay Variation Order No. 2017-518 in effect. PRD01 Freeman Pass Variation Order No. 2017-519 in effect. The north coast fishery continues in the following GMAs: None. Bivalve Shellfish Marine Biotoxin Updates can change at any time please confirm the required Pacific Fisheries Management Subarea is open prior to fishing. DETAILS: GMA PRF02a, Stephens Island South East: 1. That portion of Subarea 4-2 north of 54 degrees 03.2 minutes north latitude (View Point) and east of a line running north from position 54 degrees 03.2 minutes north latitude, 130 degrees 38.86 minutes west longitude to a point on Prescott Island at 54 degrees 05.08 minutes north latitude, 130 degrees 38.86 minutes west longitude; This opening excludes Subarea 4-9. GMA PRF02b, Stephens Island South West: That portion of Subarea 4-2 south of 54 degrees 10.53 minutes north latitude, north of 54 degrees 03.2 minutes north latitude (View Point) and west of a line running north from position 54 degrees 03.2 minutes north latitude, 130 degrees 38.86 minutes west longitude, thence to a point on Prescott Island at 54 degrees 05.08 minutes north latitude, 130 degrees 38.86 minutes west longitude. GMA PRF03, North Porcher Island: 1. That portion of Subarea 4-2 south of 54 degrees 03.2 minutes north latitude (View Point); 2. Subarea 4-4. GMA PRF04, Oval Bay: Subarea 4-3. GMA PRD01, Freeman Pass: Subarea 5-12. NOTES: South Coast areas are identified on separate Fishery Notices. See the 2017/18 Geoduck and Horse Clam Integrated Fisheries Management Plan (IFMP) for a more detailed description of the Fishing Protocol. The On-Grounds Monitor and/or Archipelago Marine Research will direct the fleet through geoduck beds and GMAs.
