FN0983-Geoduck and Horse Clam - Sectoral Committee Meeting
Please be advised that Fisheries and Oceans Canada will be holding the annual Sectoral advisory meeting to discuss the Geoduck and Horse Clam fishery. This meeting is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 in Nanaimo. This meeting is to discuss the upcoming 2018/19 Geoduck and Horse Clam season. The fishery occurs in rotation for the North Coast licensing area and most of the inside of Vancouver Island licence area. The West Coast of Vancouver Island is fished on an annual basis and can occur in Pacific Fisheries Management Areas (PFMA) 20-27 and 124. For 2018/19 the rotational areas scheduled to be fished could include: North Coast: Portions of PFMA's 1 through 4; Inside Vancouver Island could include Portions of PFMA's 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19. The draft 2018/19 management plan will be circulated for review in November.
