FN0907-COMMERCIAL - Salmon: Troll - Area F - ITQ Boundary Adjustment
This notice is to advise Area F troll of the southern boundary change on the west side of Haida Gwaii south to Cape St. James as well as the removal of the ribbon boundary east of Shag Rock along the north side of Haida Gwaii. The north Graham Island ribbon boundary to the west of Shag Rock will remain in effect until September 15, 2017. Effective at 00:01 hours, September 10, 2017, the following management areas will be open to trolling for chinook, coho, and pink salmon until further notice: Subareas 101-2, 101-4, 101-5, 101-8 to 101-10. Subareas 1-1, 1-3, and 1-5. Those portions of Subareas 1-2,1-7, 101-3, 101-6 and that portion of Subarea 101-7 west of a line drawn true north from Shag Rock, outside and seaward of a line drawn one nautical mile parallel to the shorelines of Graham Island and Langara Island (defined at the mean high water mark). That portion of Subarea 101-7 east of a line running true North from Shag Rock. Subareas 2-38, 2-48, 2-49, 2-68, 2-69, 2-78, 2-79, 2-86, 2-88, 2-92, 2-97 and 2- 98. That portion of Management Area 142 north of 51 degrees 56.5 minutes north latitude and outside the Frederick Island Rockfish Conservation Area and the SGang Gwaay Marine Protected Area. Variation Order number 2017-NCTR-07 will be in effect beginning at 00:01 hours, September 10, 2017. The Frederick Island Rockfish Conservation Area and SGang Gwaay Marine Protected Areas remain closed to hook and line fisheries (see below for descriptions). Frederick Island Rockfish Conservation Area Those portions of Subareas 1-1, 101-1 and 142-2 that lies outside a line that begins at 53 degrees 56.246 minutes north and 133 degrees 17.500 minutes west then true east to 53 degrees 56.246 minutes north and 133 degrees 11.862 minutes west(Hope Point)then to 53 degrees 57.144 minutes north and 133 degrees 07.938 minutes west (Graham Island) then southerly following the shoreline of Graham Island to the intersection with 53 degrees 47.0 minutes north latitude, then to 53 degrees 47.000 minutes north and 133 degrees 10.00 minutes west thence to the beginning point. SGang Gwaay Marine Protected Area Those waters of Subareas 2-31 and 142-1 inside a 3km radius from the centre point on Anthony Island located at 52 degrees 05.655 minutes north and 131 degrees 13.178 minutes west.
