FN0886-RECREATIONAL - Salmon - Pink - Region 3 - Retention in Kamloops Lake and South Thompson Rivers - Effective September 1, 2017
Effective 00:01 hours Friday, September 1 until Friday, September 22, 2017 in the waters of: Kamloops Lake: - Four (4) chinook per day, only two (2) of which may be over 50 cm. - Two (2) pink salmon per day. South Thompson River: South Thompson River from the green can buoy near the outlet of Little River, including Little Shuswap Lake, to the fishing boundary sign approximately 100 m downstream of Campbell Creek, you may retain: - Four (4) chinook per day, only two (2) of which may be over 50 cm. - Two (2) pink salmon per day. Anglers should avoid using fishing methods that catch sockeye salmon and fish selectively. The first principle of selective harvesting is to avoid catching non-targeted stocks. Please note that bottom bouncing with long leaders is NOT considered a selective fishing method and is strongly discouraged. The Department will monitor the situation to ensure impacts on sockeye are at a minimum. There is a monthly quota of six (6) chinook over 50 cm from the South Thompson River. Fishing is permitted during daylight hours only. The daily aggregate limit of four (4) salmon per day still applies. Single barbless hooks are required when fishing for salmon in non-tidal waters of British Columbia.
