Fishery Notice

Effective 23:59 hours, September 8, 2017, the following Subareas of
Area 3 will close to Area F troll until further notice:

- That portion of Subarea 3-3 north and east of a line that begins at 54 
degrees 40.667 minutes north and 130 degrees 27.833 minutes west, thence to 54 
degrees 39.000 minutes north and 130 degrees 37.000 minutes west, thence true 
north to the Canada-United States International Boundary, and

- Subareas 3-7, 3-11 and 3-12

Variation Order Number 2017-NCTR-04 is hereby revoked beginning at 23:59 hours, 
September 8, 2017.

Note: 

Returns of late migrating Area 3 coastal and lower Nass tributary coho stocks 
have been weak in recent years.  In the absence of timely in-season abundance 
information the Department is closing Area 3 as a measure to reduce harvest of 
these later timed stocks.
