FN0841-RECREATIONAL - Salmon - Chinook - Region 3 - Fishing Opportunities


In 2017, many Fraser and Thompson River fisheries are being impacted by 
extremely poor returns of Fraser sockeye.  Areas not listed are not open to 
salmon fishing at this time.

Further recreational fisheries directed on chinook or pink salmon may be 
announced later in the year in separate notices.

Kamloops Lake:

Effective August 16 until September 15, 2017, you may retain four chinook 
salmon per day, only one of which may be greater than 50 cm in fork length, in 
Kamloops Lake.

South Thompson River:

Effective August 22 until September 22, 2017, you may retain four chinook 
salmon per day, only two of which may be greater than 50 cm in fork length, in 
that portion of the South Thompson River from the green can buoy near outlet of 
Little River, including Little Shuswap Lake, to the fishing boundary sign 
approximately 100 m downstream of Campbell Creek.  There is a monthly limit of 
six chinook salmon over 50 cm that may be taken from these waters.
