Harvesting on any tenures is prohibited under this fishery opening unless authorized by the tenure holder. Fishers are reminded that during harvest and transport in hot weather to reduce mortality on clams by minimizing the amount of clams they keep in each bag and to keep the clams cool by placing them in the water at the harvest location. Please dig in all the discarded and undersized clams. All eligible fishers must have their 2017 licence and meet the conditions of that licence (wear a high visibility vest with licence number clearly marked on it and the sacks of clams must be immediately tagged with the licence number as soon as clams are placed in it). All licence holders must carry valid photo identification along with their licences. Fishers should consult the 2016/18 Intertidal Clam Management Plan and the local DFO office for descriptions of closed areas and contact numbers for further information.
