COHO, PINK
The Dixon Entrance targeted coho fishery opened July 10, 2017 (FN0590). The
current catch is estimated to be 218,000 coho and 24,000 pink. Average coho
CPUE has remained over 110 coho per vessel per day since the opening on July
10. Observed coho CPUE has remained very high and well above the decadal
average to date.

Area 3 Coho
The Nisga'a Lisims Government monitors Nass River coho abundance in-season
using fishwheels. The department will be reviewing returns of coho past the
fishwheels in the coming week to determine if run strength of coho in Area 3 is
sufficient for a troll opening.

Central Coast Limited Entry Coho Demonstration Fishery
This fishery is scheduled to open on August 1 (FN0723) until August 31, 2017
with a restricted number of vessels permitted to operate in Areas 6 to 8. Area
F Harvest Committee members assisted the department with random selections of
applicants on July 6. Vessels permitted to participate in this demonstration
fishery are listed in FN0723.
