Opening 00:01 July 29, 2017 in the following Geoduck Management Areas (GMAs): SUMMARY: GMA 16D01, Thormanby Island Variation Order No. 2017-378 Fishery Continues: 14E04, French Creek 14E05, Rathtrevor Beach Variation Order No. 2017-367 14E03, Qualicum Beach Variation Order No. 2017-357 Note: See Fishery Notice No. FN0737 Bivalve Shellfish Marine Biotoxin Update, as recommended by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and issued by DFO. Bivalve Shellfish Marine Biotoxin Updates can change at any time please confirm the required Pacific Fisheries Management Subarea is open prior to fishing. DETAILS: GMA 16D01, Thormanby Island: Portions of Subareas 16-1 and 16-2 within 2.0 nautical miles of North and South Thormanby Islands, except in Welcome Passage where the boundary is mid-passage between North and South Thormanby Islands and the mainland shore. NOTES: North Coast and West Coast Vancouver Island areas are identified on separate Fishery Notices. See the 2017/18 Geoduck and Horse Clam Integrated Fisheries Management Plan (IFMP) for a more detailed description of the Fishing Protocol. The On-Grounds Monitor and/or Archipelago Marine Research will direct the fleet through Geoduck beds and GMAs.
